Since the company's formation in 1914, Ampco Metal achieved recognized leadership in the production and distribution of specialty alloys, cast and machined parts, custom made to specific demanded applications.
In 2002, Ampco Metal in Europe became an independant group, owned by a Swiss Holding Company.
To start with the very beginning, we need to go back to 1914, when August Littman invented a bronze alloy "hard enough to cut steel". From this invention the American Metal Products Company was formed and the product called Ampco Metal.
