Established under its present name in 1990, Aurora acquired the Orionics product line of fiber instruments from Ametek, Inc, in 1991. Orionics, in turn, originally located in Bozeman, Montana, introduced the world's first commercially-available fusion splicer and OTDR in 1978. Aurora/Orionics now represents a twenty-one year record of continuous achievement, quality, and technical innovation.
Aurora is the Only U.S. manufacturer of field-worthy fiber optic fusion splicers.
