After 15 years of traveling the country manually testing motor winding insulation resistance, Joe Horvath realized the need for an automatic insulation tester. In 1982 Joe teamed up with Jim Miller and together they created the world's first truly automatic insulation resistance tester and Automeg Inc was born. In 1990 Ralph Chin was contracted to develop the Phasemeg. The company now holds three separate U.S. patents. In 2002 Automeg Inc celebrated its 20th anniversary.
